Vidya Kakra

MAP Fellow

Vidya holds a B.A. LL.B. from Symbiosis International University and a LL.M. in International Law from The Fletcher School, Tufts University.

Prior to this, she interned at the United Nations, Executive Office of the Secretary-General with the Rule of Law Unit in New York. In India, she has been actively involved in human rights advocacy with several civil society organizations. She also assisted the Working Group on Human Rights in India and the UN (WGHR) in coordinating India’s 4th Universal Periodic Review (UPR) at the UN Human Rights Council. Vidya has also contributed to the field through her publications in legal academic journals, addressing critical human rights issues such as women’s rights and child rights.

At MAP she has joined MAP as a CFC Fellow and will assist in the Gender Equality and Empowerment Project.
