Nilotpal is a human rights lawyer who has dedicated his career to advancing the rights of marginalized groups. Between 2012 and 2016, his litigation work involved a wide range of social justice and human rights issues. Following this, between 2016 and 2022, he held pivotal legal roles in refugee protection at United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in New Delhi.

Nilotpal earned his BA LLB from Symbiosis Law School, Pune in 2006-2011. He recently completed his LLM from Pennsylvania State University, specializing in International Law, Public Interest Law, and National Security Law.

At MAP, he is the Litigation Coordinator for Gender & Displacement. He is responsible for leading a specialized legal unit that focuses on women and girls within migrant communities.
